The mission of the Central Lafourche Bantam Football League (CLBF) is to provide fun athletic learning opportunities for children via participation in team sports and activities in a safe and structured environment. Through this active participation, CLBF programs teach fundamental values, skills, and knowledge that young people will use throughout their lives.
OBJECTIVES:
· To encourage and increase youth participation in football and cheer leading.
· To instill life-long values of teamwork, dedication, and work ethic both on and off the playing field.
· To ensure a safe and positive playing environment for all athletes.
POSITIVE EXPERIENCE:
· CLBF programs have no tryouts or cutting of rosters.
· Everyone participates under mandatory rules of play. (5th quarter)
· On-field coaching is allowed for younger age levels.
· Education and personal development stressed over winning.
SAFE PLAYING ENVIRONMENT:
· Enforced local and league by-laws.
· CLBF teams play in the Bayou Bantam Football League who also regulates fair play via by-laws.
· Athletes are matched by age and weight levels.
· There are strict mandatory equipment requirements.
COACHES:
· Certified via the National Alliance for Youth Sports, with at least one on-staff coach specifically trained in concussion protocols.
· Attending coach’s clinic to review goals and expectations.
· Attending risk management training.
· Undergo background checks.
